Summer Young

To me, The Collective Access is more than just an organization.  It is a powerhouse group of amazingly ambitious, determined and motivated individuals who want to leave a positive impact on this world.  Those are my types of people.  We all want to leave a legacy, and there is no one else I would rather surround myself with and build an empire with than the other C/A members.

Degrees/ Educational Achievements:

Born in Minnesota, Summer completed her undergraduate education at Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village, NV where she received a Bachelors of Science, summa cum laude, in Business and Resort Management.  Now, Ms. Young is in her third and final year of Law School at Thomas Jefferson School of Law in downtown San Diego and is ranked in the top 5% of her class.

She is a published author on Copyright within music, maintains a Board Position on Law Review and has participated in Moot Court competitions.  All the while, Summer has maintained a position on the Distinguished Honor Roll while being a full-time student.  She is interested in learning about Entertainment, Corporate and Personal Injury Law.

Causes of interest:

Summer has spent countless hours helping nonprofit organizations around the country as well as community causes such as volunteering at churches and helping with High School basketball teams.  Summer believes that giving back is just as critical for her well-being as it is for other people on the receiving end.

She also has personal interests in fitness, nutrition, staying active, and spending time reading about ways to make the world a better place!

Summer understands that all it takes is one inspiration in a persons life to help them achieve their goals.  She plans on doing this by continuing to live a very healthy, active lifestyle and helping lift up those around her.

Professional Passion/Path/Achievements:

On a professional level, because of Summers background in private equity and finance, her goal is to become involved in Business and Corporate Law as soon as successful completion of passing the California Bar Exam.  Summer wants to eventually open up her own law practice with a few of her very good friends and colleagues.

On a passionate level, Summer is focused on being an inspiration, motivator, philanthropist, and role model for all the kids that she comes into contact with.  Being the youngest of eight children in her family, Summer feels as though she is a product of all the lessons that she has witnessed and watched growing up as a result of her siblings.  She feels as though it is her duty to give back to those younger than her who need and want someone to look up to. Summer strives everyday to make the world a better and brighter place, which is clear from her positivity and optimistic attitude.

Currently, Ms. Young is focused on successfully completing law school and starting her career here in San Diego, CA.  Summer enjoys going on runs on Coronado, hiking, hanging out with her friends (as well as their dogs), and enjoying her weekly Sunday brunch dates with her girlfriends.

Reason for joining The Collective Access:

Summer has always had a passion for giving back to her community.  One day while at the gym, Summer recognized the Collective Access’ CEO, Lance Growth, because he is an alumni of her law school.  She then joined Lance and Casey Kuroda (another C/A member), to run the stairs at the San Diego Convention Center.  They described to her what The Collective Access was, and ever since that day Summer has been excited about being a part of the mission and goal of the organization.
